Website Redesign

My website hadn't changed since 2018, and it was definitely time for a complete overhaul. It was originally built while I was studying for my Master's degree and, frankly, it wasn't particularly attractive. On top of that, it no longer reflected my current situation.

Before

The website was initially designed as a simple online business card showcasing a few projects I wanted to highlight (one of them even had extensive documentation), along with a handful of blog posts and a contact page.

Once I started working full-time, the site barely changed. Between limited free time and a lack of motivation to keep it updated, it was mostly left untouched.

What About Now?

The current implementation was designed to be easy to maintain and improve, while also being quick to set up to fit within my time constraints. So goodbye PHP, and hello to a static site generation solution.

That's how I discovered Eleventy (which is soon to become "Build Awesome"). It's incredibly simple to set up and use. I'll probably write another blog post going into more detail about how this website was built.

That doesn't necessarily mean the site will now be maintained more consistently. Time constraints haven't gone away—in fact, they've only become more significant. However, simply having a cleaner and more modern foundation already makes me a bit more motivated to keep working on it.
